Style Icon - George Lamb
My published editorial - www.thestyleking.com
The dapper silver fox of TV, George Lamb had to sneak his way onto our iconic best dressed list at some point and the sooner the better we’d say.
man of many talents, Mr Lamb has proven he has kinetic charm both on radio and television as a presenter of such hugely successful shows as; BBC Radio 6 Music and Big Brother’s Little Brother (BBLB) and has worked with industry greats like the DJ Marc Hughes.
Not only being able to seduce an audience of reality TV obsessed strangers and create the perfect party play list, George Lamb is of course one of London’s perfectly turned out men, proving that London men are some of the globes best dresses.
His dedication to menswear has led George Lamb to team up with Adrien Sauvage a must have designer who believes in bringing new life to the suit. Together they have created a new label A.Sauvage with Sauvage at the creative helm and Lamb acting the muse and face of the brand.
George Lamb has created a look and style of gentlemanly elegance, and always appears cultivated and perfectly turned out. It’s this sort of seamless attention to details that gives George his foppish charm. Obviously taking his daily dress seriously, he follows Hardy Amies mantra “A man should look as if he had bought his clothes with intelligence, put then on with care and then forgotten about them”. His uniformed look of slim fit tailoring to show off his lithe figure comprises of a suit often in a three piece navy mohair from A.Sauvage W1 and accessorised with coloured v neck sweaters, ties, tie clips and his signature silvery floppy mop which produce an end result so natural and compact it’s hard to imagine him decked out in any other way.
He favours A.Sauvage for suiting but isn’t afraid for fraternising with enemy brands, getting his shirts from Charvet in Paris and if he does feel the need to stray from his signature staples, only the best will do and roughs it in J Brand jeans, rolled up chinos and espadrilles.
His style is quirky and unique and he has created a look that defines him and puts him in a league of his own. Proving it does well to be clever with your style and image, follow trend to a point, but stay true to your own integral brand identity and remain confident in your individuality.

Palladium - Hidden Gems of L.A
My published editorial - www.thestyleking.com
This season heritage boot brand Palladium have teamed up with US actress Odette Annable (Cloverfield, Breaking In) for their latest urban exploration entitled Hidden Gems of L.A. Continuing Palladiums quest to explore hidden places in cities around the world. Odette who is born and bread Los Angeles and is enjoying her successful career in Hollywood takes Palladium on a tour of lesser none L.A from an artist’s community in the shadow of the 5 freeway, the rooftop of a legendary downtown hotel and a Frank Lloyd Wright property left unfinished in the hills of Malibu and south central Los Angeles.
The film coincides with Palladium’s new collection of LITE boots – the perfect boot for summer. Extremely light weight (under 8oz) breathable, stylish and on trend but still rugged enough for exploring, camping, hiking and festival going.

Style Icon - Kanye West
My published editorial - www.thestyleking.com
Kanye West. Lyrical genius, music producer, American Dream success story, style icon, and soon to be (or not, as the case may be) one of Central Saint Martin’s best – we salute you!
So far Mr West is our most contemporary icon of style and his fast track to fashionable success has proved too great to ignore.
Starting off as a record producer and discovered by Jay-Z, Kanye started a music career all of his own which has seen him reach lofty highs. Collaborating with musical greats Alicia Keys, Ludacris and Janet Jackson, his five US number one albums all went platinum (receiving 14 Grammies in total) and he even founding his own record label GOOD Music with such artists on its books as John Legend.
It’s not just soulful gangster rap and electro pop that’s putting West on the map, and we shouldn’t dismiss Kanye West’s credibility as a true bastion of fashion because of his apparently rejected application to enrol on the prestigious Saint Martin’s MA course in fashion design.
His recent internship with Karl Largerfeld at Fendi and his strong presence on the front row of the world’s fashion shows has led to a fashion designing splurge. West has announced he is to stick with fashion, designing a collection of scarves inspired by his current album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in collaboration with the French design duo M/M.
His fascination with fashion has a deep rooted connection with the attention to detail he pays to his own image and style, which is nothing short of floorless. Kanye squarely has his feet in the two different camps; Modern American Dandy and cool kid, Casual (but never sloppy) Gangster Chic.
Not afraid of the finer fabrics and accessories of dressing like a gentleman, when Mr West wears a suit he’s rarely seen without a pocket square, neck tie or scarf and favours sharp crisp tailoring. He has also given new energy to the bow tie proving formal attire isn’t reserved for royalty or the stuffy establishment. Kanye, wouldn’t be Kanye without his modern twist on formal style – his signature eyewear. Whether it’s something more traditional with vintage flare, or his slatted plastic lenses he’s made face furniture his own.
On the other hand, he’s perfected the casual lounge wear favoured by R’n’B hip-hop moguls all over the globe. Sports jackets, varsity jackets, joggers, fur trim and jumped up high tops are a must!
What’s really key, of course is his self assured steely cool attitude and confidence whilst still being the upmost gentleman. Kanye has successfully conquered every challenge and career path he’s taken on and has proven to be the king of cool as well as a maverick of style.

Trend setting Music for the Sartorial Topman
Topman topped the charts with the first of their private gig collaborations with Channel 4 for the second series of Topman CNTL MX, presented by Huw Stevens, the witty Radio 1 presenter and guest controller and Inbetweeners star James Buckley who chose the bands for the night.
It was a great night of live performances from Pulled Apart By Horses and the main act Miles Kane who certainly wasn’t as intense or raucous as PABH but he stole the night with his distinctive Liverpudlian drawl, snappy style and rhythmic modish rock line up. Other artists of the night included States of Emotion, video feeds from Cock n Ball Kid from the USA and DJ Sian Anson from Rinse fm.
What was most striking was the entwined relationship between the hard hitting and arousing music of the live bands, who are all rising starts on the music scene and the revival in their collective sense of style which was aptly mirrored by their diehard fans.
Miles, who is becoming a bit of a style icon with his sharp tailored suits and scruffy bowl hair cut set the tone for the nights dedicated followers of fashion. The audience was a sea of skinny shrunken suits and drain pipe jeans with a real emphasis on 60’s fashion trends and the Mod style. A style which Miles seems to embody – from his raspy intense voice and retro Brit rock vibe of the band who were all dressed like 60’s throw backs, think early Beatles or The Kinks for inspiration.
This all added to the vibe of the night, which along with the on trend groupies and the bands, was fresh, vibrant and very sartorially cool. It was the perfect combination of on trend fashion and some of the best of British, and cutting edge music. Something felt real and exciting like you were witnessing the next big thing.
Other current trends were out in force too; the granddad sweater, Barbour’s and the unmistakable turns ups showing off ankles or colourful socks, but the Mod, as it did in Milan last month ruled the roast.
If the Miles Kane and his fans are anything to go by fashion is harking back five decades and its twist on traditional menswear. Style that mop top and pour yourself into some ankle swingers and rock out to retro.
To get the Miles Kane’s look, look no further than Topman, with its impressive selection of affordable and sharply cut suits all under £120, and a great selection of on trend cardigans, chinos, worn denim jackets, cravats and neck ties to perfect your look. By Sam Outing.
